Boen Hardwood Floor Care Products
| Boen
has elected to protect the surface of their superbly milled floor
with five layers of finish cured with ultraviolet rays. It is a formaldehyde-free
acrylic polyurethane proven to be twice as tough as the finish used
by many competitors. Maintenance is low, but it is still important. Vacuum, sweep or dust as often as necessary to keep sand and grit away from the surface. That, and an occasional wiping with an almost dry mop, using Bona Swedish Formula Hardwood Floor Cleaner, is all the regular care your Boen floor requires. Very stubborn stains and scuff marks may be removed by a one time use of denatured alcohol or mineral spirits. Check for compatibility by experimenting with a sample board, or in an inconspicuous location. Finally, when wear areas appear, recoat with a top quality waterborne polyurethane, following the manufacturer's directions. You can sand your Boen floor if necessary, but with proper maintenance and care, it should last for years without the problems associated with sanding. |
